That’s how my Crohn’s symptoms started. Constipation and passing hard stools and bleeding down there. My dad died from colon cancer and since I was in my mid 40s I decided to get a colonoscopy and it’s a good thing I did! My gastroenterologist diagnosed me with Crohn’s and started treatment immediately. The first 2 years wasn’t much of an issue and sulfasalazine kept everything under control. After that it became severe and I had to go on biologics. The problem was getting my health insurance to cover the cost. Eventually they did but a lot of damage was done by the time I got approved. Last August I had emergency surgery because my colon was perforated and I nearly died from the infection. I’ve been living with an ileostomy since then and surprisingly I’ve been able to function normally. Once I recovered from surgery and got my strength back through some intense rehab I’ve been able to work again and now I’m back to a more normal weight. I’m hoping that my colon will heal soon and I can have it reversed.

I recently had surgery and had lots of complications and unfortunately had to have a colonoscopy. It’s supposed to be reversed in October. I came home and everything went bad. My bag leaked constantly for 12 days and my first few weeks. I had to change the bag 22 times I had two infections that caused a lot of pain around the stoma and remote and my home health nurses had not realized I had an infection, my friend that’s a Home Health Nurse so a picture that I sent her of my stoma and she said go to the ER to get checked out and then I ended up back in the hospital for six days, I’ve been home now for three weeks and I just started back at work Saturday. I’m very concerned about leaks because I’m a massage therapist and I have a very physical job so I am so thankful for you and others with the content to give information even though I’m probably just a temporary stoma I still wanna know as much as possible so the next four months can be peaceful. It’s shook me to my core being covered in your own, you know what all those times was not something I was prepared for or warned about that would happen so it took me a while to take charge of it and do it myself. My last bag change I got the science the last seven days And slowly I’m getting more confident. I’m getting released Tuesday from home health and I’m just concerned because I’m still scared about leaks so any information that you can share is amazing and your videos are just incredible and your positivity is very inspiring because it’s been a very very difficult transition into living with this. It’s been very hard on me emotionally and physically dealing with it because it’s just not something that I was even expecting that had to happen but my surgery was complicated. They had to remove my sigmoid colon some of my colon some of my intestines in my spleen so my stoma is slightly recessed too that makes it a little difficult to work with

I had a temporary colostomy bag decades ago. My bag unexpectedly filled and the store I was in didn't allow public access to their bathrooms. I told them it was a medical emergency. I was a new colostomy patient and panicked. I tried to go find another bathroom and my bag just burst. All over. I am still traumatized by the experience. Looking back I should have just walked down an empty aisle and changed my bag. Another time my bag filled with gas causing my shirt to puff up, walking out of a store I was approached by security asking what I was hiding (trying to steal) under my shirt. I just had an awful experience. Luckily I only had it for 9mos.I wish there was UA-cam back then, so I could watch how others, such as yourself, make it look so easy. Kudos to you. You don't realize how much you are helping others get through, what can be a challenging time in their life. Much respect. 🌺

I had emergency surgery in Nov 2024 for obsess removal on side of my abdomen. I had no symptoms except constant drop in Pressure. My husband called in Trauma emergency & op was done immediately. The op left a large gaping wound & the Wound sisters started dressing & vacuum machine change They were excellent. The physician continued antibiotics, all supplements until all infection was clear. Beside pain from surgery, I had no other problems. I have autoimmunity SLE & am not sure if this worked in my favour. I need to check my full blood count for increasing supplements. Can anyone help with info on these. Sepsis is frightening, It feels like you will never survive. For me getting back my independence was most important. I refused step down programme & home health covered by medical aid. I am driving & back to normal & pray I do not have to ever go through this again. Wish you all well. Stay blessed.

My God you are so young to have this already I survived and beat stomach cancer for 18 years now you might want to look into Cleveland clinic they are so far beyond everybody else. I met a guy that they grew him a bladder and put it in after a year with a bag and he can't even tell he ever had cancer. They are amazing. Perhaps there's more they could do for you. They do have a program for financial assistance if you don't have good enough insurance or anything like that I had Medicare when they saved my life and they did a fantastic job I had some of the greatest doctors in the world. I just thought I'd share that with you because you look so young I'm so sorry you had to go through all this I know how hard major surgeries really are. Best of luck and God bless
