Living beyond disease - it isn't about ignoring your illness, but it also isn't about living in darkness. It's the active work a person does to balance their chronic disease health and their ability to do what they chose with their lives. It is almost never picture-perfect, but its so worth it, I cannot tell you how thankful I am to share my "living beyond disease" with you!

Tks for share. God bless you 🙌🏻❤️
You are so strong i admire you
So proud of you you're still in good spirits even though you've got health conditions learn own keep your head up I'm praying for you and hopefully it it'll be reversed stay strong sweetheart
Hugs
Brave 😊
I had a colostomy due to her diverticulitis, it was hard for me to change my colostomy bag so my son help me change it when it needed to be changed. This has been about 13 years ago. I had a reversal.
That’s how my Crohn’s symptoms started. Constipation and passing hard stools and bleeding down there. My dad died from colon cancer and since I was in my mid 40s I decided to get a colonoscopy and it’s a good thing I did! My gastroenterologist diagnosed me with Crohn’s and started treatment immediately. The first 2 years wasn’t much of an issue and sulfasalazine kept everything under control. After that it became severe and I had to go on biologics. The problem was getting my health insurance to cover the cost. Eventually they did but a lot of damage was done by the time I got approved. Last August I had emergency surgery because my colon was perforated and I nearly died from the infection. I’ve been living with an ileostomy since then and surprisingly I’ve been able to function normally. Once I recovered from surgery and got my strength back through some intense rehab I’ve been able to work again and now I’m back to a more normal weight. I’m hoping that my colon will heal soon and I can have it reversed.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Much appreciated. God bless all those who had to go through this procedure. Stay strong.
Isnt this colostomy also?
There are 3 different types of stomas: colostomies, ileostomies (what I have which is made from the terminal ileum) and urostomies
Osmotic bag did not deprive you of normal life. I like your self esteem.❤️❤️❤️
I used to be a nurse, changed and cleaned lots of these over the yrs. Know what your going thru... glad you made this video! So many people have no clue what you go thru everyday.
I recently had surgery and had lots of complications and unfortunately had to have a colonoscopy. It’s supposed to be reversed in October. I came home and everything went bad. My bag leaked constantly for 12 days and my first few weeks. I had to change the bag 22 times I had two infections that caused a lot of pain around the stoma and remote and my home health nurses had not realized I had an infection, my friend that’s a Home Health Nurse so a picture that I sent her of my stoma and she said go to the ER to get checked out and then I ended up back in the hospital for six days, I’ve been home now for three weeks and I just started back at work Saturday. I’m very concerned about leaks because I’m a massage therapist and I have a very physical job so I am so thankful for you and others with the content to give information even though I’m probably just a temporary stoma I still wanna know as much as possible so the next four months can be peaceful. It’s shook me to my core being covered in your own, you know what all those times was not something I was prepared for or warned about that would happen so it took me a while to take charge of it and do it myself. My last bag change I got the science the last seven days And slowly I’m getting more confident. I’m getting released Tuesday from home health and I’m just concerned because I’m still scared about leaks so any information that you can share is amazing and your videos are just incredible and your positivity is very inspiring because it’s been a very very difficult transition into living with this. It’s been very hard on me emotionally and physically dealing with it because it’s just not something that I was even expecting that had to happen but my surgery was complicated. They had to remove my sigmoid colon some of my colon some of my intestines in my spleen so my stoma is slightly recessed too that makes it a little difficult to work with
Wait....I signed up for this!?! Damn it, I knew I shouldn't sign my name on that person's clipboard! Do you have any white out?
Once I was mowing and I had not clicked the Velcro on the bag very good and the bag contient ended up all over my jeans.
Thanks for sharing with others so they do not feel alone
❤ we're taking this ride with you. I know you don't know all of us, but some of is know you for years. Sending love
Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you so much for being so open about this! I certainly have never known anyone with an ostomy, but I'm very happy to learn about the challenges that people with them have.
GOD BLESS YOU
Thank you for sharing, I know if I was facing having an ostomy bag I would be so scared. It’s great that you are helping people understand.
I just wanted to message my mom💀
👍👍👍👍
Temu has bags. They come 100 pack for less than $8 bucks. I got purple. Got my daughter pink. It might save you some money. I use them for sanitary items. I love them.
I had a temporary colostomy bag decades ago. My bag unexpectedly filled and the store I was in didn't allow public access to their bathrooms. I told them it was a medical emergency. I was a new colostomy patient and panicked. I tried to go find another bathroom and my bag just burst. All over. I am still traumatized by the experience. Looking back I should have just walked down an empty aisle and changed my bag. Another time my bag filled with gas causing my shirt to puff up, walking out of a store I was approached by security asking what I was hiding (trying to steal) under my shirt. I just had an awful experience. Luckily I only had it for 9mos.I wish there was UA-cam back then, so I could watch how others, such as yourself, make it look so easy. Kudos to you. You don't realize how much you are helping others get through, what can be a challenging time in their life. Much respect. 🌺
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉عشقی شما🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
That's one heck of lady what's she doing educating others.
They are not invisible conditions. All have physical symptoms, & you live those symptoms.
When I say invisible, I mean that if someone were to look at me, they wouldn't be able to tell I have Crohn's.
@@LetsTalkIBD yes. Understand completely. I'm sorry if the comment sounded critical. Circadian Rythym Disorders are extremely complex, as the sleep/ wake system is all over, every cell, muscle, tissue, from head to toe> 24/7. So full on . Want to raise awareness, as this group have a high sucide rate.
I had emergency surgery in Nov 2024 for obsess removal on side of my abdomen. I had no symptoms except constant drop in Pressure. My husband called in Trauma emergency & op was done immediately. The op left a large gaping wound & the Wound sisters started dressing & vacuum machine change They were excellent. The physician continued antibiotics, all supplements until all infection was clear. Beside pain from surgery, I had no other problems. I have autoimmunity SLE & am not sure if this worked in my favour. I need to check my full blood count for increasing supplements. Can anyone help with info on these. Sepsis is frightening, It feels like you will never survive. For me getting back my independence was most important. I refused step down programme & home health covered by medical aid. I am driving & back to normal & pray I do not have to ever go through this again. Wish you all well. Stay blessed.
I am a side sleeper, I just wonder can ya'll side sleep with a bag on?
Well done Zack. Thank you both.
This may be a stupid question because to my basic knowlage a stoma or ostomy bag has nothing to do with your overies or uterus but, does having a stoma or an ostomy bag affect your menstrual cycle, if so how if you are comfortable sharing 😂❤
Love your blogs and have learned so much from you. Although this session was posted a year ago, it just showed up today. Coincidentally I had my first infusion for dehydration yesterday. Four hours later I had a kidney ultrasound and would you believe while lying on the table, my bag sprung a leak. In the future I will try not to schedule 2 procedures on the same day.
You too are amazing together. I wish you a life long and beautiful marriage ❤️❤️❤️
Oh Maggie rest!!! Take it easy!!! You live in a beautiful place that goes to beautiful places!!!ohhhhhhh you had a gusher of the night!!!so sorry!!! Next one will be short!!!❤ take care mags❤
Do you get the fatigue from autoimmune disease? I have a wierd form of IBD. Microscopic colitis. It's been really hard to stabilize my weight. I also have a few other chronic diseases. The fatigue after trying to go to events is crushing.
My God you are so young to have this already I survived and beat stomach cancer for 18 years now you might want to look into Cleveland clinic they are so far beyond everybody else. I met a guy that they grew him a bladder and put it in after a year with a bag and he can't even tell he ever had cancer. They are amazing. Perhaps there's more they could do for you. They do have a program for financial assistance if you don't have good enough insurance or anything like that I had Medicare when they saved my life and they did a fantastic job I had some of the greatest doctors in the world. I just thought I'd share that with you because you look so young I'm so sorry you had to go through all this I know how hard major surgeries really are. Best of luck and God bless
DONT YOU HAVE ANY SHAME. DISGUSTING . GET A LIFE
Find a need; fill the need. You should start your own supply company. You truly understand the need which clearly others do not!
Glad u showed it. Very clean.
I just got my illiostomi bag on May 29th I have no colon due to colon cancer I made it a year with my small intestine to my rectum made it almost 2 years like that but it didn't end up working so my doctor took out my rectum and sewed my ants shut
A aucun moment elle ne se lave les mains....sympa
I wish people used their brains. This video is 60 seconds long. I washed my hands.
Que valiente mi niña que Dios te bendiga
Thank you for this! I would have never thought this is how it looked on a day to day basis. It’s just not something I think about. But it really makes me thankful for my health and promotes awareness and hopefully people will be more understanding and progressive in their views of not knowing what others go through! Have a lovely day! Thanks for the video!
I don't know how anyone could live like that. I couldn't live like that. I have a friend who had one due to medical mistake and she was suicidal because they did a terrible job of it and no matter what she did, the bags would constantly pop off.
My daughter, wears one & sometimes she'll have the same problem
